CE Teacher Practicum 3 – 5 pm ~ yoga teacher supplement
Whether you wish to deepen your personal practice, or take a deeper dive into the methodology and instructing of more advanced poses and shapes, this workshop series is for YOU. Workshops can be taken individually or as a series.
Over the course of four months (total of four workshops), Sarah will offer students and teachers of all levels the opportunity to learn and then teach more advanced postures. Each 2 hour workshop focuses on a specific classification of pose (Inversions, Backbends, Arm/Hand Balancing, Twists + Binds) in relationship to the entire body. Build confidence and find fluidity as you explore familiar as well as more inventive ways to practice, and develop a deeper understanding of the anatomical principles of asana.
After the initial workshop, yoga teachers are encouraged to stay for an additional 2 hour practical training, collectively breaking down the sequencing strategy, emphasizing the anatomical structuring, muscle recruitment, and movement within the body. Learn how to confidently: refine your cuing, and use hands-on adjustments, props, modifications and intensifications.
Completion of each practicum is eligible for 4 CEU hours, or 16 hours for the entire series
Sarah Webb, MFA, E-RYT® 500, YACEP
Sarah’s path is comprised of many stitches. From the artist’s studio to the yoga studio, she has explored unique ways to create, to practice, and to make meaning. But at heart, Sarah has always been a maker and a teacher. In 2000, after a lifetime of living with scoliosis, Sarah began a new practice and a new journey, from a body constricted, to a body empowered. Her training has been guided and inspired by the Anusara School of Hatha Yoga, and immersive studies with Dr. Douglas Brooks, Vishali Varga and Christina Sell. In addition, Sarah is honored to have worked with and assisted Elise Miller, and Judith Lasater.
Sarah weaves her critical, visual and perceptual background into a unique environment for students to map and make meaning of their individual body’s stories and experiences. She has been a lead teacher in a local Teacher Training program, currently teaches weekly at Flourish Yoga Project, and mentors/coaches teachers and students privately and in small group sessions who wish to explore and engage in material not always covered in public classes.
